Steve Reynolds
has been a professional pointing dog field trial trainer since 1995. He has worked with most pointing breeds, but Weimaraners have been his specialty. Steve has won the Weimaraner Club of America National Field Championship twice, garnered numerous national placements and is usually in the money somewhere at Nationals every year. He also trained two WCA National Amateur Field Champions, two No. 1 WCA All-Age/Gun Dogs of the year and has finished numerous AKC field champions.
The beloved dog that started it all, NAFC/FC/AFC Snake Breaks Sgt. Schultz, was voted into the WCA Hall of Fame in 2009. Until recently Steve competed pretty much year around on a national field trial circuit, but has cut back on travel and is focused on training bird dogs year around and field trialing on the West Coast in the fall and spring and supporting the Texas field trial circuit in the fall and the WCA Nationals in Ardmore, Ok., the first full week of December every year.
He is currently a member of a proposed new Dual Weimaraner committee and served on the WCA’s Field Register of Merit Committee. Steve loves a big running dog but wants a dog that has a kind handle, class and style on its birds. He also believes that field trial Weimaraners should be able to hunt for their owners on foot.
Anne Taguchi
has been active in Weimaraner AKC field trials in the southern Calfornia area for almost ten years. The last several years she has chaired or served as secretary of the Orange Coast and Southland Weim Club local field trials and has helped put on a WCA regional. She is the owner of DC Outdoors Life of Riley, one of the few duals in the Weimaraner breed. Anne handled Riley in the ring and has garnered many placements with him and her Blue Weimaraner, Indy, at local field trials. She breeds under the kennel name, Touchstone.
